New mural installation by artist A’Darrius Hanible celebrates the country music star as part of the Congress of Country Music’s growing public art initiative

PHILADELPHIA, Miss., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Country music star Lainey Wilson joined GRAMMY Award-winning artist Marty Stuart and community leaders Tuesday for the unveiling of “Wildflowers and Wild Horses,” a new mural honoring Wilson in downtown Philadelphia, Mississippi.

Lainey Wilson, Marty Stuart, sponsors and local supporters gather for a group photo in front of the mural.

“Lainey Wilson is not only a dear friend, but someone who understands the meaning of home,” said Marty Stuart. “She knows that no matter how far life takes you or how high your dreams carry you, nothing can replace the people and places that shaped who you are. Lainey came here for this mural unveiling and her fundraiser performances for the Congress of Country Music on nothing more than a hug and a handshake. No contract, no formalities, just friendship, trust and a shared love for where we come from. That tells you everything you need to know about who Lainey Wilson is, and I am so thankful for her support of the Congress of Country Music.”

Created by artist A’Darrius Hanible, the mural takes its name and inspiration from Wilson’s hit song and celebrates an artist whose distinctive sound, storytelling and authenticity have helped shape a new generation of country music.

The unveiling is part of Marty Stuart’s Congress of Country Music’s ongoing public art initiative, which brings country music’s history and cultural influence to life through murals honoring some of the genre’s most recognizable artists.

Wilson attended the ceremony and addressed community members and fans gathered to celebrate the new installation.

“This mural is absolutely beautiful, and I’m so grateful the warm welcome I’ve received here,” said Lainey Wilson. “I brought some of my Mississippi friends along for a little picking and grinning, and that’s exactly what I want tonight to be about. A chance to step away from the craziness of everyday life, come together and celebrate the heart of country music. At the end of the day, country music is about storytelling, and there’s nothing better than sharing those stories with good people.”

The mural was made possible through the support of Aalwese Properties, Hill Real Estate, lafedericks.com, Brent and Annette Federick, and the Riviera Motor Hotel, whose contributions reflect the community’s continued investment in downtown Philadelphia’s growing arts and cultural landscape.

“Wildflowers and Wild Horses” joins a growing collection of murals throughout downtown Philadelphia honoring influential country music artists and songwriters. The initiative builds on the Congress of Country Music’s mission to preserve the genre’s heritage while creating new opportunities for residents and visitors to experience its enduring influence.
