Annual gala will honor two longtime champions of South Los Angeles youth at SoFi Stadium
LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES, October 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — A Place Called Home (APCH), a nonprofit serving young people and families in South Los Angeles, will host its annual gala on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at SoFi Stadium, bringing together community leaders, supporters, and advocates to celebrate the young people they serve and the people and organizations who invest in their future.
This year’s gala, themed “Homecoming: The Future is Within Reach,” will honor Gitta Ryle, a Holocaust survivor, educator, and storyteller, and Herbalife, recognizing their significant and longstanding contributions to A Place Called Home and its mission.
The evening will begin at 5:30PM with cocktail hour, followed by dinner and programming, featuring performances by APCH youth, powerful stories from members of the APCH community, and opportunities for guests to experience the creativity and talent of the young people at the heart of the organization’s work.
For more than three decades, APCH has provided a safe and supportive place where young people can learn, grow, and discover their potential. Through free after-school and summer programming, APCH offers opportunities in the arts, music, sports, health and wellness, education and leadership, while also providing resources and support to families and the broader community.
“We are grateful to celebrate Gitta Ryle and Herbalife, whose generosity, leadership, and belief in the young people we serve have helped strengthen the programs and opportunities we provide every day. This gala is about celebrating what matters most to us: the young people and families of South Los Angeles and their potential, which inspires our work,” said Norayma Cabot, CEO of A Place Called Home.
Honoring Gitta Ryle
A Holocaust survivor, storyteller, and educator, Gitta Ryle has dedicated much of her life to sharing her story of trauma and recovery and using the lessons of her experience to educate and inspire others, including the youth at APCH. Through her years of involvement at APCH, Gitta has contributed to the organization’s efforts to inspire young people and strengthen their sense of possibility, making her an honoree for an evening centered on the future of South Los Angeles youth.
Honoring Herbalife
APCH will honor Herbalife and the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) with its inaugural Legacy of Impact Award, recognizing more than 20 years of partnership and a shared commitment to supporting young people and families. In 2005, APCH received its first grant through HFF’s Casa Herbalife Program, which supports nonprofit organizations working to improve the health and well-being of children and communities. Since then, Herbalife and HFF have invested more than $2.4 million in APCH through financial contributions and in-kind donations, helping advance APCH’s mission and create opportunities for young people and families in South Los Angeles.
“Herbalife is honored to receive the Legacy of Impact Award, recognizing our longstanding partnership that reflects a shared commitment with APCH to make a lasting difference for meaningful change in their communities,” said Dawn Campbell, senior vice president, Worldwide Member Business Practices and Compliance at Herbalife and executive board member of A Place Called Home. “I’ve seen firsthand the impact APCH makes in South Los Angeles, and I’m proud that Herbalife has been part of this work for more than two decades. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with an organization so dedicated to its mission and look forward to continuing our work together for years to come.”
A Place Called Home’s 2026 Homecoming Gala will take place Thursday, October 29, 2026, at SoFi Stadium. The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. For information about the event, sponsorship opportunities, or how to support APCH, visit www.apch.org.
