Serif Health Launches Signal Watch, Automated Rate Alerts for Hospitals, Health Systems, and Provider Groups

New capability alerts providers the moment a competitor’s negotiated rate changes, so they can act while it still matters
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Serif Health (Serif) today launched Signal Watch, a new rate alert feature built into its Signal platform. Signal Watch automatically notifies hospitals, health systems, and provider groups when a competitor’s negotiated rate changes with a specific payer.
Hospitals and health systems negotiate rates with payers on an ongoing basis, and those rates change frequently. A single change: a better per diem, a new case rate, or a steeper discount can shift payer steerage and referral patterns, and it can tilt negotiating leverage before a competing provider even knows the shift happened. Until now, catching these changes meant manually re-running the same searches across markets and payers and reviewing results, making it easy for meaningful changes to go unnoticed for months.
Signal Watch replaces manual monitoring of multiple markets and competitors with automated tracking. Users simply configure a watch for the providers, markets, and payers they want to follow. When a rate changes, Signal Watch delivers an alert by email or through the Signal dashboard. The result is consistent, timely visibility without repeated manual searches. Every account includes a dedicated Signal Watch dashboard, which displays every watch a team has created, along with its configuration and selected baseline.
With Signal Watch, providers can:
- Track negotiated rate changes for any competitor, market, or payer in Serif’s network library
- Establish a baseline and measure precisely how a rate has moved from it
- Receive notifications by email or in the Signal dashboard as soon as a change occurs
- Manage all watches from a single dashboard with full visibility into their configuration
“Every health system leader knows rates shift constantly, but almost none of them have a reliable way to see it happening without manually searching,” said Rafiq Ahmed, CEO and co-founder of Serif Health. “Signal Watch turns a blind spot into continuous monitoring. When rates change, teams can see what moved, where, and by how much—giving them better information to inform their own contracting, network strategy, and competitive positioning.”
Signal Watch is available immediately to all Signal customers. For more information or to request a demo, visit Serif Health or meet Serif at Becker’s CEO and CFO Roundtable, Nov 1-5, 2026 and Radiology Society of North America’s annual meeting, Nov 29 – Dec 3, 2026.
