Firebirds Wood Fired Grill (“Firebirds”), the award-winning, polished-casual American restaurant and steakhouse, today announced it has surpassed $5 million raised for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (“ALSF”), the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. The milestone marks a significant chapter in the brand’s ongoing partnership with the nonprofit, which was originally founded by Alexandra “Alex” Scott, whose childhood lemonade stand inspired a national movement to fund lifesaving pediatric cancer research and support families affected by childhood cancer. The proceeds raised by Firebirds have funded critical research projects, helped families travel for treatment, provided essential family assistance programs, and delivered crucial resources for children courageously battling cancer.

“At Firebirds, we believe restaurants have the power to bring people together not only around the table, but around causes that truly matter,” said Steve Kislow, Chief Executive Officer of Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. “Reaching $5 million for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is an incredible milestone, and we’re only getting started. We are honored to support an organization that has made such a profound impact in the fight against childhood cancer, and we remain deeply committed to helping advance its mission for years to come.”

Since 2012, Firebirds has rallied behind year-round fundraising initiatives benefiting ALSF, effectively funding 100,000 hours of research. This 14-year partnership, supported by team members and guests across 23 states, reflects Firebirds’ broader commitment to community impact and purpose-driven hospitality.

On an ongoing basis, Firebirds donates $1.25 from the sale of every Firebirds Lemonade to ALSF and deepens its commitment through its annual “Lemonade Days” event every June. For three days, team members set up lemonade stands at every Firebirds restaurant to raise funds, and for several weeks proceeds from lemon-based menu items – like a slice of 5 Layer Lemon Cake or a Tito’s Lemonade Drop martini – go to ALSF. Additionally, Firebirds hosts the ALSF Golf Classic each September and is a longtime sponsor of the annual Lemon Ball, a “yellow-tie” gala held in Philadelphia. Its team also regularly hosts children impacted by cancer across its system, offering an opportunity for their families to connect and enjoy a meal together.

“Every dollar raised helps move us closer to better treatments and a cure for pediatric cancer, and $5 million truly moves the needle,” said Liz Scott, Co-Executive Director of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and Alex’s mom. “Firebirds has been an incredible partner to ALSF, and I’m thrilled to see them achieve this great milestone. Their impact has become even more valuable as they grow, and we are so grateful for the continued generosity and dedication of the Firebirds team and their guests. This support has made a real and lasting difference for children and families across the country.”

Since its founding, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has become a nationally recognized force in pediatric cancer fundraising, helping raise hundreds of millions of dollars toward research into better treatments and cures while also providing emotional, financial and logistical support to families navigating childhood cancer diagnoses.

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of 4-year-old Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who was fighting cancer and wanted to raise money to find cures for all children with cancer. By the time Alex passed away at the age of 8, she had raised $1 million. Since then, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a worldwide fundraising movement and the largest independent childhood cancer charity in the U.S. ALSF is a leader in funding pediatric cancer research projects across the globe and providing programs to families affected by childhood cancer.
