Lieutenant General Kruse retired after 35 years of experience throughout the Indo-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East, concluding his career as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). At DIA, he developed an aggressive growth acceleration strategy, established an AI Task Force, reinvigorated technical and case officer collection, created a cyber analysis center, and expanded support to global defense operations. Earlier, he commanded both service and joint organizations, supported special operations, and served in Department and National leadership positions on the OSD Staff and with the Director of National Intelligence.

General Kruse earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College, a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College at the National Defense University.
